WE ARE MEMBERS OF “EDUCATION FIRST”

“Education First” (Primero Educación) is a platform of 34 Argentine Civil Society Organizations working with education and social issues. We work in favour of education, supporting the development and implementation of educational public policies with research in the field and concrete proposals of intervention. We aspire to a more equitable education; more integrate into the communities, and more professional.

On April 3rd the network presented the document “Without Education there is no Future / The Future depends on Education”, at the Jorge Luis Borges Auditorium of the National Library. The document reflects the positioning of “Education First” on a number of themes in education, with diagnoses and suggestions elaborated by the organizations member of the network.

There were a number of speakers, coordinates by Marcos Orteu, including: Ana Julia Rosales (Education First ), Miguel Blanco (From the Business Convergence Forum) and Mariano Narodowski (From the Torcuato Di Tella University).
Ana Julia Rosales, in charge of presenting the document, expressed that it “emphasizes the collaborative work of schools, families and communities as an engine to transform education”, and proposes concrete lines of action, such as “prioritizing more contexts vulnerable, accompany educational trajectories and modify the school curriculum including strategies for study, socio-emotional skills, vocational guidance and digital literacy”.

We strive to make education a relevant topic in the Argentine public debate. We presented this document to contribute and favour a focused and productive conversation about education in the country.
